Smoke Ventilation

Systems

We are a leading designer and supplier of smoke ventilation systems. We specialise in installing, commissioning, and providing comprehensive aftercare for our high-quality smoke ventilation systems. Our commitment to excellence ensures we only install products and systems that meet or exceed industry regulations. We work across various sectors, including commercial, industrial, residential, student accommodation, and hotels. Our solutions are tailored to the specific layout and requirements of each building, as smoke ventilation systems and controls may vary depending on the building layout. This ensures the optimal safety and performance of our installations.

Natural Systems

Natural Smoke Ventilation systems that rely on the buoyancy of hot gases and are ideal for single core, low rise, code-compliant buildings. These systems use the natural air flow of the building and resultant heat of a fire to ventilate smoke to the outside atmosphere, keeping escape routes clear for evacuation and firefighting operations.

Mechanical Systems

Mechanical Smoke Ventilation Systems that are based on an extraction fan system primarily used in high rise or multi-core buildings where there is a risk of smoke-logging. These systems are used in building with extended corridors and utilise fire-rated fan Pods to draw smoke through the relevant smoke shaft and vent to the atmosphere. These systems can also facilitate complex escape plans and building layouts.

Car Park Systems

Car parks systems will vary depending on the building layout between mechanical, natural or hybrid system, which could include deep basement parking and environmental control considerations for the removal of toxic gases produced by cars.

Design

Working alongside our approved suppliers, we design the project installation phase based on the initial planning considerations for fire safety provided by the building designers (Architects, Building Control, etc.). The building designers set the fire strategy for the building, which dictates all the fire protection elements as part of the first installation, including the smoke ventilation.

The ultimate design responsibility for the suitability of a smoke ventilation system for the building rests with the Architect and Building Control. This includes but is not limited to, the type of system, areas served, damper positions, and other specifications. We specialise in providing a product solution to meet the fire strategy requirements set forth by the building designers. Our design responsibility is limited to selecting products that comply with these requirements.

We offer CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) during the design phase for mechanical smoke vent systems (MSVS) to offer a complete fire engineered solution. We can simulate conditions within a digital 3D model to demonstrate that the product solutions meet the building’s requirements and provide valuable insights into the performance of the recommended system in clearing smoke from protected zones.

We will provide a full installation design package that meets the building’s fire strategy. The package includes CAD working drawings, wiring schematics, and an equipment schedule compatible with the CFD model for our installation engineers to use. It also includes the supply, installation, commissioning, and certification of the selected smoke ventilation and control system.

Since no two smoke ventilation systems—natural, mechanical, or car park systems—are the same, we offer bespoke installation design services tailored to each project’s unique fire strategy specification. All smoke ventilation systems we design, and install are fit for purpose and comply with the building fire strategy and governing legislation.

We will effectively manage your project from the design of the installation through to aftercare.

Installation

As a result-oriented, detailed, highly organised leading smoke ventilation installer, we pride ourselves on our relentless pursuit to deliver compliant systems with high-quality workmanship and excellent customer service. We adhere strictly to safe fire safety practices, ensuring you can trust us to deliver a no-shortcuts, compliant system that performs exactly as designed.

We offer a comprehensive installation service, from installing the smoke ventilation equipment to first-fix wiring and secondary containment. Our dedicated installation engineers are committed to delivering the highest standards and providing hands-on support onsite.

To enhance productivity on larger projects, we invest in creating on-site offices and site stations. These site offices maintain a direct communication and data link with our head office, providing the project and installation team with direct access to the latest project management tools, job files, drawings, and reports.

Our attention to detail underpins the management of all our installations. We manage every project on a 90-day project planning cycle tailored to each specific project. As part of our quality control process, we conduct on-site audits for each project stage. We record test results directly on-site and certify the installation in compliance with the relevant legislation. The certification is issued and retained in electronic format.

We provide a comprehensive package with a single supply chain and point of contact to ensure that clients have ultimate peace of mind, knowing that the work is being managed according to a project plan and budget.

Aftercare

We offer a full-service from design, to installation, through to a full preventative maintenance service following our installation. We strive to achieve the highest standards during the installation phase of a project by implementing our extensive on-site quality control process of stage testing and auditing. All systems also come with an optional full-system warranty.

As an integral part of any project, our aftercare team become our client’s point of contact, post-project completion. The comprehensive after care service includes functional tests and health checks of the smoke ventilation and control systems. Our quality control process ensures every measure is taken to guarantee the system will function, as designed, should the circumstances require it.
